MISSION STATEMENT

To afford women the right to have children by CHOICE not by CHANCE.

AIMS

The world's poorest and most vulnerable women trust Marie Stopes to provide them with quality family planning and reproductive healthcare, our work prevents unnecessary deaths and makes a sustainable impact on the lives of millions of people every year.  Our clients are at the centre of everything we do and it is our mission to ensure that everyone has a choice when it comes to their health and that they are able to have children by choice, not chance.

MSSA believes that sexual and reproductive health is a fundamental human right, and that everyone, regardless of where they live in the world, should have access to quality sexual and reproductive health information and services.

MSSA aims to ensure the widest possible access by providing a range of information and innovative services; by keeping sexual and reproductive health high on the international agenda and by working in partnership with others.

STRUCTURE

Marie Stopes South Africa (MSSA), is a registered NGO providing comprehensive reproductive healthcare to poor and disadvantaged communities in South Africa. MSSA has 37 clinics located across the country, including 7 micro-centres, strategically placed in communities that have little or no access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services.

MSSA Clinics are staffed with professional, qualified Doctors and Nurses who are trained in women and youth-friendly family planning and SRH service provision.

MSSA is part of the Marie Stopes International (MSI) global partnership which works in 43 countries. MSI partners are locally managed and staffed NGO’s which work with governments, NGOs, health professionals and local communities to deliver innovative, high quality SRH programmes which are culturally appropriate and respond to local needs.
